"JESSE JACKSON: AMERICA’S DAVID”
Dr. Reynolds's first book, Jesse Jackson: The Man, the Movement and the Myth (renamed
Jesse Jackson: America's David) became such a best-selling classic, it was stolen out of most of the American libraries
and banned from being sold in many of the larger book chains. Dr. Reynolds was confronted with the hard-core realities
of truth telling after her life was threatened and was assigned police bodyguards after she refused to leave town because
of the overheated climate the book produced. Yet, in true prophetic fashion, this book traced the early career
of Jackson. It told of his genius as a leader but also boldly pointed out his womanizing, his patronage
machine, his King making, all of which came back to haunt him in the 21st century.
