Shohei Ohtani injury: Dodgers star exits with shoulder injury in World Series Game 2


Shohei Ohtani has a case as the most spectacular athlete on Earth. His talent is finally on the biggest stage in the baseball with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2024 World Series, but he had to leave Game 2 after suffering a scary injury on a failed stolen base attempt.

With the Dodgers leading 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Ohtani tried to steal second base. He was thrown out, and then had to exit the game with a left shoulder injury suffered during his slide.

MLB insider Ken Rosenthal confirmed Ohtani suffered a shoulder injury, but the severity isn’t known yet. Watch the play here:

Ohtani became the first 50/50 club member this season when he hit 54 home runs and stole 59 bases. He’s not pitching this season as he recovers from Tommy John surgery, but he’s still a lock to win National League MVP in his first season with the Dodgers.
