Dolly Parton will not compete with Mariah Carey to be Christmas Queen: “I’m happy to be second in line to her.”

The holiday season is fast approaching and there is a new debate about who the true Queen of Christmas is: Mariah Carey or Dolly Parton.

Parton was recently featured on the cover of Better Homes & Gardens magazine. She discussed her feelings about Carey’s “Queen of Christmas”. Both artists have shared their love for the holiday through music and other ventures.

Parton answered a question about whether she thinks she is worthy of the title and said that she doesn’t want to compete with Carey. She is happy to let Carey win the battle.

“Now, don’t you say that!” Parton stated that she was not going to be able to compete with Mariah. She is my best friend. When you think about Christmas, Mariah is what comes to mind. “I’m glad to be second in her line.”

Because of her No. 1 hit, many people associate Carey and Christmas. The No. 1 hit song “All I Want For Christmas is You” continues to be a top-selling holiday song, despite it being released in 1994. It is the only Christmas song that has won the Recording Industry Association of America Diamond Award.

Social media users joke that every December, Mariah Season officially begins. She also announced that she will host a holiday special on CBS and Paramount + called “Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas To All!” which will feature performances from some of her greatest hits.

Although Parton hasn’t released a single song about Christmas, it is clear that she loves the holiday. She released a Christmas LP in 1984 with Kenny Rogers, followed by another in 1990 entitled “Home for Christmas”, and a third in 2020 called “A Holly Dolly Christmas.”

Parton has also filmed six Christmas movies including “Christmas on the Square”, “Christmas at Dollywood,” and “Unlikely Angel”. “Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas,” her latest Christmas movie, will debut in December 2022.

Carey was unable to claim the title “Queen Christmas”, and she filed for a trademark that would only allow her to be known as the official Queen of Christmas in March 2021. Carey was challenged by Elizabeth Chan and Darlene love, who claimed they were the true titleholders. Carey filed a legal action to stop the trademark’s progress.

Chan said that Christmas has been here before anyone on Earth and will continue to be here long after we are gone,” Chan told Variety. “And I strongly believe that no one should be able to hold on to Christmas or dominate it in the same way Mariah wants to. This is wrong. Christmas is for all. It is meant to be shared, not owned.”

Parton cherishes Christmas memories from her childhood. Parton explains that her family was poor and her mother worked hard to make Christmas special for them.

She claims she does just as much to make this holiday special for her children now as she did when she was a child. She is known as “Granny Clause.”

Parton said, “It’s got all the flames and everything.” “I don my Santa suit and get my Santa bags. “And I go down the chimney.

Parton celebrates Christmas at Dollywood, her theme park. Smoky Mountain Christmas will be the theme this year. It will feature 6 million twinkle lights decorating the park and holiday shows like “Christmas in the Smokies” or “Twas the Night Before Christmas”.
