Emily Has a New Bob for the Upcoming Season of ‘Emily in Paris’

Emily in Paris officially began filming season five on May 7, 2025—and to mark the occasion, Lily Collins gave fans a sneak peek at Emily Cooper’s new look. Gone are the breakup bangs and sleek waves. Now the character has a precise, c-nty little bob similar to the cut Lily Collins herself has been sporting since last June, when she first chopped her signature long hair.

In the photo posted to Instagram—captioned “Lights, Camera, Amore – Emily in Paris Season 5 is now in production!”—Collins is seen sitting on a Vespa scooter, wearing a printed jumpsuit, with the Emily in Paris crew in the background.

Given that Emily ended up in Rome at the end of season four, that’s most likely where the photo was taken, though there was no geotag on the image. And in an Instagram Stories video posted to the Emily in Paris account, Collins is filming a scene with costar Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello).

Emily has always had her own take on Parisian style, but this cut is her most polished and chic to date. It goes perfectly with the fresh start the character is embarking on—from opening Agence Grateau’s new Rome office to dating Italian heartthrob Marcello Muratori—so it’s only appropriate that Emily would lean into this new chapter of her life. Of course, her move to Rome is, so far, only a temporary one. Also, her French-chef ex-boyfriend, Gabriel, is hot on her heels after deciding he must travel to Italy to win her back.

So, when will fans see the new season of Emily in Paris? Given that filming just began, we most likely won’t get season five until later this holiday season, at the earliest. (Emily in Paris season four premiered in August 2024, meaning that it will be more than a year between seasons.)
