Remember in 2016, after Donald Trump was elected president the first time, when all the celebrities were like, âIâm moving to Canadaâ or âIâm moving to Mexicoâ or âIâm moving to Marsâ? For the most part, they were all talk. But not Eva Longoria.
In a new interview with Marie Claire, Longoriaâwho campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris and spoke at the Democratic National Conventionâopened up about her global lifestyle, which no longer includes a permanent address in the U.S.
âIâm privileged,â she says of the ability to live primarily outside the States. âI get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans arenât so lucky. Theyâre going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.â
Longoria and her husband, José Bastón, as well as their six-year-old son, Santiago, now split their time between Mexico and Spain. The 49-year-old adds that while she frequently travels in Europe or South America for work, she doesnât often find herself in Los Angeles, where she had previously spent most of her adult life. âIt just feels like this chapter in my life is done now,â she says of leaving California.
