Halle Bailey Sometimes Feels as Though She's ‘Drowning’ Postpartum

Halle Bailey, 24, opened up about the severe toll of postpartum depression, and her honesty and candor is so courageous.

In a Snapchat video captured by a fan account, the Little Mermaid star shared that her son, Halo, whom she shares with boyfriend DDG, is “perfect, beautiful, and when I look at him I cry because of how special he is.” But in the aftermath of giving birth to him, she isn’t “feeling normal” in her body. “I feel like a completely different person. It’s crazy. When I look in the mirror, I feel like I’m in a whole new body. I don’t know who I am,” she revealed.

Bailey echoed a sentiment many new moms have shared, which is that once the baby arrives, its needs (understandably) come first and foremost, but a new mom needs care as well. “I think there’s something to be said about women, what we go through. Especially after building and creating this beautiful life. And what happens to us and our well-being after.”
