Jenna Ortega Seems To Love the Underrated Bag Brand Hammitt As Much As I Do

Right now, everyone’s talking about Jenna Ortega’s incredible Met Gala look, but they should be talking about her bag game.

Perhaps Ortega’s getting back into the swing of Wednesday Addams-themed dressing, because she stepped out in two all-black looks the week ahead of the Met Gala—and topped both of them off with my favorite mid-priced designer bag brand.

Just days before she hit the Met Gala after-party with Sabrina Carpenter, the Wednesday star led the “Apple” dance at Charli XCX’s Brat Tour on May 3. I quickly noticed the 22-year-old actor was sporting one of my favorite Los Angeles-based brands, allowing her black pebble leather Hammitt bag to bounce against her hip with every move. You can see the video here.

The bag was easy to identify by Hammitt’s signature rivets, which added another touch of edge to her lace bodysuit and leather jacket. In this case, Ortega was sporting the slouchy Kyle shoulder bag with gunmetal hardware, further accessorizing the $295 purse with a thin crimson scarf by the same brand.

This comes just hours after Ortega was spotted wearing a large Hammitt hobo bag with the same gunmetal rivet border for a daytime outing in NYC. She paired the Tom Zip Large Bag, which retails for $575, with a simple black T-shirt, high-waisted trousers, and a “DG” baseball cap.

The Hapa Blonde

Clearly, Jenna Ortega has impeccable taste. As a proud owner of a burgundy patent leather Becker bag and black leather Evan Crossbody (both featuring the same gunmetal hardware Ortega seems to prefer), I can attest that the pebble leather is soft and durable, with even their smaller offerings holding more than you’d expect.

I can’t leave the house with my Becker without receiving multiple compliments—and I can still fit my full-sized wallet, phone, lip gloss, preferred wireless (and Olivia Rodrigo approved) headphones, and a portable charger with a bit of room to spare. Some of my other going out bags could never.
