The JMGO N1S Ultra 4K Triple Color Laser gimbal projector is the sort of device that could make you rethink your entire living room. What we mean is the new generation of laser projectors introduce the possibility of enjoying your favorite binge-worthy show or cinematic film for something less obtrusive and grander in scale than most any television. And the JMGO N1S Ultra does this all with a portable plug-and-play form factor that subtracts much of the guesswork associated with setting up home theater projection systems.
Weighing at under five pounds, the compact N1S Ultra and its 1080p resolution N1S compatriot are both designed for easy mobility, featuring a built-in handle design that makes it easy to tote around: backyard screenings, camping outings, public presentations, or anywhere with a blank wall to project onto. Smart picture calibration features like auto keystone correction and smart focus adjustment further enhance the user experience (a godsend when projecting onto a less than perfect surface), making these projectors truly plug-and-play.
The two models are aesthetically different, with the N1S sheathed in a sleek white finish, while the N1S Ultra sports a sophisticated black design. But inside, there’s a big difference between the Ultra and N1S, including brighter output, higher 4K resolution, and a range of smart features to simplify setup and also protect users from accidentally blinding themselves (Multi Adaptive System, Auto Screen Fitting, Smart Object Avoidance, Smart Eye Protection).
Both models feature JMGO’s signature pan-and-tilt gimbal design, allowing for easy setup and optimal viewing angles, operating as a stand that takes out the concern about how to prop up the projector to an ideal height. Unlike an ultra short throw, you’ll need to factor in placement, but in optimal conditions this compact projector is capable of producing a 180″ picture, far larger than any consumer grade television.
At the heart of both projectors is the MALC (Microstructure Adaptive Laser Control) Triple Color Laser Optics, a mouthful of techno-jargon that simply explains JMGO uses separate red, blue, and green lasers to improve brightness, contrast, and color fidelity. If you identify as someone not tech-minded, you’ll appreciate these models include integration of Google TV with a native Netflix license. This means you won’t have to worry about adding a set top box, just log into your Netflix (or YouTube or Prime Video accounts) and you’re ready to start bingeing to your heart’s content with shortcuts built into the remote.
The JMGO N1S is available now on the JMGO website for $999, with the flagship N1S Ultra priced at $2,299.
