The 31st annual SAG Awards stream live on Netflix tonight. If you’re a fan of Kristen Bell and Adam Brody in Nobody Wants This, Harrison Ford, Jason Segel, and Jessica Williams in Shrinking, or #Polin’s season of Bridgerton, then this is the awards show for you. All are nominated tonight in the star-studded ceremony, which is typically one of the most spirited, fun awards shows honoring and voted on by actors.
Jane Fonda will be awarded the SAG Life Achievement Award, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will present to the icon. Additional presenters include Ariana Grande, Colin Farrell, Cynthia Erivo, Elle Fanning, Fran Drescher, Gillian Anderson, Harrison Ford, Isabella Rossellini, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jessica Williams, Jodie Foster, Joey King, Keke Palmer, Keri Russell, Kerry Washington, Lisa Kudrow, Max Greenfield, Michelle Yeoh, Mikey Madison, Millie Bobby Brown, Molly Shannon, Monica Barbaro, Pamela Anderson, Quinta Brunson, Selena Gomez, Timothée Chalamet, and many more.
This is the last major awards show honoring television categories until the Emmys in September. But have no fear, the Oscars are only a week away (yes, next Sunday is already March 2). For more on the SAG Awards on Netflix, including the host and time, see below.
Tonight also marks the debut of the highly anticipated Suits spin-off, Suits L.A. While the producers want the series to stand on its own, look out for plenty of fun surprises and Easter eggs from the mothership throughout the season. (And no, I don’t expect the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, to make an appearance.)
Following Suits L.A. is NBC’s other new series, Gross Pointe Garden Society. It has elements of Desperate Housewives and Women Who Kill as well as a killer cast, with favorites like AnnaSophia Robb, Aja Naomi King, and Melissa Fumero.
The second season of 1923 also returns tonight as does the second episode of The White Lotus, but that’s not even everything that premieres this week. (By the way, if you’re missing Jennifer Coolidge on this season of The White Lotus, know that she’s in a new movie called Riff Raff that arrives this Sunday. I know it’s not the same, but it’s something.)
The other big new release this week is Kate Hudson’s new sitcom—and actually, her first TV role. All 10 episodes of Running Point, from Mindy Kaling, will drop Thursday on Netflix; if you’re missing the antics of the cast of characters on The Mindy Project, then this basketball-set workplace comedy is your show. Hudson is at her best when she gets to do physical comedy, and Running Point lets her shine.
For everything else this week, and there’s a lot, check out the full guide below. I’ll see you next week for the Oscars and the returns of Dr. Odyssey and Grey’s Anatomy.
